Thursday Thirteen #21

When Chris took off for his trip to Louisiana, for the National Championship Game, we made a bunch of CDs for him to bring along.  Most of them were just fun, uplifting songs to help him get pumped up for the game. But, we did make a CD for him to listen to in case LSU lost. (Thank goodness they won!)  Here are the last thirteen songs we uploaded to the ipod in preparation for his trip.  Please let me know if you like any of these songs in the comments section. Thanks!

1.  Big & Rich  - "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)"

2. Black Eyed Peas - "Let's Get It Started"

3. Electric Light Orchestra - "Showdown"

4. Otis Redding - "(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay"

5. Fergie - "Big Girls Don't Cry"

6. Keith Urban - "Somebody Like You"

7. King Harvest - "Dancing in the Moonlight"

8. Mary J. Blige - "Family Affair"

9. Moby - "Extreme Ways"

10. Montgomery Gentry - "My Town"

11. Orleans - "Still the One"

12. Rascal Flatts - "Stand"

13. The Rolling Stones - "Paint It Black"

I like 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 13 on your list. I may have heard and liked some of the other ones, but the titles don't ring a bell.

Once again, me and you are on the same page. For my upcoming show this Saturday, I have the first hour already prepped. One of the songs that I'll be playing is "Dancing In the Moonlight".

There were only a couple of these songs I didn't recognize, but I love the rest of them!

I really like #'s 2,3,and 4. I grew up in Ohio and remain a loyal OSU fan...Thanks for reminding me of their poor performence. LOL.Have a great TT>

I loved Otis Redding. Most I've never heard of though, but that's not surprising. I'm old. I'm glad LSU won. What a wonderful trip for your hubby. Have a great TT Holly. :)

There is something about Big Girls Don't Cry that I just LOVE.

Finally got my link up right -- Mr Linky remembered my last post, and jumped right in to post it!

I like the Otis Redding one and the Rolling Stone one...I can't place the Keith Urban one but I "might" like it.

#4 and #9 I have on my iTunes too. #3 and #9 I would like to add to my playlist someday. Happy TT and thanks for stopping by.

big girls don't cry...that's a good one! haha (mine's up)

Outstanding mix of styles, all quality music.

You guys have great taste in music.

what a fun list - and great mix of styles. Several of them are on my iPod, but it's fun to hear the idea of a "win" album vs. a "loss" album. You're a sweet mama to prepare for both!

-MamaToo

somebody like you and stand made it on my tt this week too!

Happy tt!

You've got some good country in there! I like it all...

I am going to a Carrie Underwood/Keith Urban concert in March! I cannot wait! :)

I know #4 and like it a lot. And #13 of course. one of the most vicious songs the Stones ever recorded but a great tune and one that stays with you.

I love Otis! Great list. God bless.

The only ones I knew were Otis and Fergie.

I think #4 is my favorite...

Very eclectic list! Love it.

Happy TT!

What a mix but I like it! :o) Big Girls Don't Cry is my current favorite though.

Ahhh... save a horse, ride a cowboy, indeed!

Not just the song but the whole idea just cracks me up.

#4 really takes me back! Thanks.

What a terrific list. And I completely LOVE 2, 7 and 11. I bet they'll be in my head all night now. (Thanks for visiting my TT)

I love #4 and 5. Great list.

I like "Dancing in the Moonlight",Family Affair.

Number 8 is definitely a favorite of mine. Happy TT.

LOVE #4! 3, 7, 11 & 13 are ok.

Oh, I really like that Fergie album but I hate hate hate that song. I think it's super selfish. Bleck! Of course, you make up with it with any Moby track! ;) Chris is lucky you are so cool - it could be a lot worse.

Happy TT.

i love #5! it's over played in my house...all my kids love fergie, too!!!
great list!

Very interesting list. I'm so out of it, I only know a few of the songs! Pathetic isn't it?

SJR
The Pink Flamingo

Great list! I love Moby's Extreme Ways!!! Awesome song. I love Mary J, too.

:0) Happy Thursday!

Ah, Otis Redding, the Stones...can't go wrong with them!
Happy TT!

#2 is a fun song! My son would kill me for telling you this, but we like to sing #5 when we're riding in the car. Yes, he's a boy, and it's about a girl, but we still have fun! I love "My Town!"

I love Dock of the Bay.

Otis is one of my favorites!

Nice mix.

2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, and 13 are all songs I know or like. Glad to know I'd survive a roadtrip with you. *grin*

Happy TT

These songs are most excellent!!

I feel so old sometimes! I don’t even recognize any of the songs on this list. Sigh! I don't own an ipod either.
Hugs and blessings,

Hey great list. I do like a lot of those songs. Have fun listening and making memories with them.

LMAO That looks suspiciously like my playlist for writing.

Happy TT

Aline

They are great songs! How good of you to do that for him!

I think I only know #4.

I love Rascal Flats and Keith Urban!!! Great music I have most on my nano as well!
Have a wonderful week.

Love number 4. I'm glad they won!

I can get excited about that, even if I *am* a Sooner :) Thanks for stopping by!

I *think* I like about half the songs... if I have the titles right, that is. Mind like a sieve when it comes to song titles. Except the Stones & Otis Redding songs--those are old enough that I can remember them.

I don't know very many of those, but I love the one by Fergie... :)

I like Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, and Paint it Black. Kind of sick of the Fergie song already - her voice is done so "cutesy" but I liked it at first.

Happy TT-13!

Smiles,

Holly
