Thursday Thirteen #21
When Chris took off for his trip to Louisiana, for the National Championship Game, we made a bunch of CDs for him to bring along. Most of them were just fun, uplifting songs to help him get pumped up for the game. But, we did make a CD for him to listen to in case LSU lost. (Thank goodness they won!) Here are the last thirteen songs we uploaded to the ipod in preparation for his trip. Please let me know if you like any of these songs in the comments section. Thanks!
1. Big & Rich - "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)"
2. Black Eyed Peas - "Let's Get It Started"
3. Electric Light Orchestra - "Showdown"
4. Otis Redding - "(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay"
5. Fergie - "Big Girls Don't Cry"
6. Keith Urban - "Somebody Like You"
7. King Harvest - "Dancing in the Moonlight"
8. Mary J. Blige - "Family Affair"
9. Moby - "Extreme Ways"
10. Montgomery Gentry - "My Town"
11. Orleans - "Still the One"
12. Rascal Flatts - "Stand"
13. The Rolling Stones - "Paint It Black"

I like 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 13 on your list. I may have heard and liked some of the other ones, but the titles don't ring a bell.
Once again, me and you are on the same page. For my upcoming show this Saturday, I have the first hour already prepped. One of the songs that I'll be playing is "Dancing In the Moonlight".

I loved Otis Redding. Most I've never heard of though, but that's not surprising. I'm old. I'm glad LSU won. What a wonderful trip for your hubby. Have a great TT Holly. :)

There is something about Big Girls Don't Cry that I just LOVE.
Finally got my link up right -- Mr Linky remembered my last post, and jumped right in to post it!

Outstanding mix of styles, all quality music.
You guys have great taste in music.

what a fun list - and great mix of styles. Several of them are on my iPod, but it's fun to hear the idea of a "win" album vs. a "loss" album. You're a sweet mama to prepare for both!

Oh, I really like that Fergie album but I hate hate hate that song. I think it's super selfish. Bleck! Of course, you make up with it with any Moby track! ;) Chris is lucky you are so cool - it could be a lot worse.
Happy TT.

#2 is a fun song! My son would kill me for telling you this, but we like to sing #5 when we're riding in the car. Yes, he's a boy, and it's about a girl, but we still have fun! I love "My Town!"

I *think* I like about half the songs... if I have the titles right, that is. Mind like a sieve when it comes to song titles. Except the Stones & Otis Redding songs--those are old enough that I can remember them.
Posted by: Darla | January 17, 2008 at 08:39 AM
I don't know very many of those, but I love the one by Fergie... :)
Posted by: Deb - Mom of 3 Girls | January 17, 2008 at 09:19 AM
I like Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, and Paint it Black. Kind of sick of the Fergie song already - her voice is done so "cutesy" but I liked it at first.
Happy TT-13!
